System Restore

Your computer is sick and not operating as it should. You already have tried several quick fixes, but to no avail. Now what? Thank God, there is hope. It's called System Restore.

Windows System Restore reverts back to a certain recorded time when your computer was working satisfactorily.  A snapshot was taken of all your system files and drivers, this is called restore points. In other words, it's like clicking on that undo icon (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) to erase everything you just did, to where it was before.

You have two options when using System Restore:

1) Restore your computer to an earlier time.
2) Create a restore point.

To access System Restore:  Start  >  Programs  >  Accessories  >  System Tools > System Restore

To restore your computer to an earlier time:

Select restore my computer to an earlier time.

The calendar on the left has certain dates that are bold. These are the days that have restore points.

Select the day that is closest to the day before you were having problems.
You have now reset your computer to the date chosen on the calendar that you selected.

Remember, it should be the day that you know your computer was operating satisfactorily.

Now click OK.

To Create a New Restore Point:

Check - Create a restore point

Give the new restore point a name, something you will recognize later.

Click - Create
You are now done.

We welcome your feedback.
