Safe Mode F8

In some instances when troubleshooting a PC, you may either not be able to boot up, or the PC is running so slow to accomplish anything, you will have to access the Safe Mode feature of Windows.
In Safe Mode, only the necessary files and drivers are loaded into the operating system. The computer will be able to boot up and it will also operate faster (unless the problem are in the these vital files and drivers). In addition, most of the Virus' and Spyware are disabled, leaving them at your disposal.

To access Safe Mode (Me, 2000, XP, Vista, Win 7):
1) Start computer
2) As the computer begins to boot up, hold down the F8 key.
3) The Windows Advanced Options Menu appears.
4) Select the Safe Mode option.
5) Press ENTER

Select Operating System - In this example we are using Windows XP

Wait for necessary files and drivers to load

Log in, if there is no password, just click the green arrow

Click YES

You will now have the safe mode desktop screen.

To exit Safe Mode, restart or reboot your computer.
