Pale Moon Internet Browser
A few months ago, I highlighted a new internet browser based upon the Google Chrome platform, called Comodo Dragon. Not to be outdone, the Pale Moon Project team released a internet browser named the Pale Moon Browser. It is tuned and optimized for all the Windows System, based on the Firefox browser. According to Lifehacker.com , "If you're a devotee of Firefox's add-ons and features but would like just a tad more operation speed, Pale Moon might be perfect, at least for a trial run. The custom and extension-compatible Firefox build seems just a bit snappier."
I downloaded and tried this browser, and I can attest that it is slightly faster and does seem to use less resources. Of course we will have to wait for another browser speed showdown, to see how Pale Moon will compare to the other browsers, including the Comodo Dragon browser. Unfortunately, at this time, this browser is only available for the Windows operating system. Mac users who have Firefox on their computers will have to wait to see if a Mac version will become available in the future.
- Highly optimized for modern processors.
- 100% Firefox sourced: As safe as the browser that has seen years of development.
- Uses slightly less memory because of disabled redundant and optional code.
- Significant speed increases for page drawing and script processing.
- Stability: experience fewer browser crashes.
- Support for Firefox extensions (add-ons), themes and personas.
In addition, you can run both Firefox and Palemoon at the same time. What better way to do a comparision, side by side. There is also a 64-bit and a portable version available for you to try out too.
