Free Cell Phone & Tablet Antivirus Software
If you connect to the internet and read email, you should have some form of protection.
There are many excellent security software for many different phones. Check your Market Place Applications.
The list below only highlights free software available.
Android Users - some say since Adroid is developed from the Linux system, antivirus software is not required, because it is difficult for any virus to attach to a Linux based operating system. But still, to be safe, there are a many free antivirus softwares available for phones that operate with the Android OS.
Iphone Users - Presently, Apply doesn't allow applications to be running in the background, which defeats the purpose of having Real Time protection. Antivirus/Antispyware developers are willing to develope software, but many are waiting for Apple to approve, but it seems Apple is willing to keep everything in their own hands.
"Actually, nobody can, since to do it they would need assistance from Apple because the device's software development kit doesn't allow any programs to run out of its own sandbox. And Mikko Hypponen, chief research officer at F-Secure, says that they don't seem interested in helping."
Trend Smart Surfing & Flexilis (Lookout) is available for the IPhone, but not sure how effective these applications are.
BlackBerry - the only free application I could find was the Lookout.com software.

A version of it was leaked to the public recently, and the official statement from McAfee is that the software is a proof of concept and is not ready for the public to use yet. This is very clear when you consider the application was not built with the SDK, and would have to be written over again for use on iPhones using the SDK.
