Free Antivirus for Apple OS
Normally, Mac users would not be visiting this website. But many of the visitors do have both PC and Apple computers at their home or office.
In the past, Mac users were not concerned about malware infections on their computers, for Windows was the primary target of most malware.
However, a new trojan horse has surfaced, that targets the Apple OS, called Mac Defender. It masquerades as a virus scanner, but actually grabs your credit card information, which is not good. This has caused Apple to release a security update for Snow Leopard. But the question is, will more malware be targeting Apple in the near future?
Although the Mac OS itself, with its secure, Unix-based architecture, is itself a naturally protected OS, as compared to Windows. But, as they say, nothing is perfect, as hackers and malware developers are already focusing on the Apple OS. The best advice is to be safe, with some form of antivirus protection.
